Concarneau itself is still one of the great fishing ports, and has a lively shopping centre and excellent restaurants. The Ville Clos is a tiny stone citadel jutting out into the harbour, much visited. There are excellent beaches all along the coast from Nevez to La Torche, all with in a 30 minute drive. Excellent shopping in Quimper.
